What To Leave Out Of Your Hand Luggage

If you go on weekend trips abroad, this post is for you.

It is short and sweet just like your flight.

Last year I wrote tips for packing hand luggage which you can read about here.

Todays post is about what not to pack, unless you absolutely need them.

This will save you space and time as packing will be quicker.

Tech – Tablet, iPad, Kindle, digital cameras. Most smart phones have all of these functions within them, so leave the tech at home. The added benefit is that you’ll now only need one plug adapter as you’ll only have one device to charge.

Hair dryer/straighteners – They weigh a lot, and take up space. If you are going somewhere hot or by the beach, the chances are your hair will frizz and get sweaty anyway, so why put your hair through more torture.

Toiletries – I’m particularly talking about things like spray deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner.

If you are going away with friends, agree who will bring what so you can share, rather than all of you bringing everything. Or if you are staying with a friend, they will have these products at home anyway.

Multiple sets of beachwear – If it’s for a long weekend away, you can get away with one or two and Hand wash them each night. Unless your going on a beach party type trip in which case I fully understand you want to take a few.

Towels – They are bulky. If you must bring a beach towel invest in a light weight quick drying one.

So pack light. If you have tips on packing for trips away, I would love to hear them.

Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of you weekend. 😊
