Super power (in fiction): an exceptional or extraordinary power or ability
Well, I finally got around to watching Wonder Woman. After watching, I decided I want to become an Amazon (or an astral goddess) with super powers myself one day, once 5ft 2 Amazons become a thing.
What about in real life though, do we have super powers? Maybe not in the way Wonder Woman does, but if you choose a different synonym, then I’d say yes, we do.
Super: excellent, superb, first-class, outstanding, remarkable, magnificent, wonderful, exquisite, exceptional
Power: ability, capacity, capability, potential, competence,
How about exceptional potential or excellent ability?
We each have something we use to push us on. It may not be as unique as Wonder Woman’s abilities, but they are our own strengths and they work for us. I have been thinking long and hard about what mine is. Resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness
I am not unbreakable, but I adapt and bounce back quickly from setbacks. Resilient.
Now I won’t be making a costume, because Resilience Woman does not have quite the same ring to it as Wonder Woman, yours might though. 😉
So when you know your super power, tell people, and most importantly, use it.
