January Blues Anyone?

Christmas is over, sigh…

Even with all the shouts of ‘gosh I can’t wait until Christmas is over’, once it is indeed over, and it is officially the start of the new year, it does feel just the tiniest bit, well, empty.

Family and friends have all gone back to where they were visiting from.

There’s no excuse now for cracking open the Bailey’s at 11am and overeating.

All those card payments have cleared and the direct debits have come out. Damn getting paid early for Christmas. It’s gonna be a long month.

Also for most people it’s back to the usual routine of morning alarms for work, school drop offs, or even starting job applications following a decision to change jobs.

Something I’ve learned over the past year is that it really helps to have something to look forward to, to find motivation and to share when things aren’t so great. Looking back over my blog, I’ve written about it too (quite a lot as it happens) based on my own experiences.

I don’t expect you to go searching through my posts, oh no. What I have done instead is linked the posts that I think will be the most relevant. They won’t change your life, but there might be something in them which resonates with you.

Click on the word(s) below which most relate to how you are feeling or want to feel right now.

Have a read.

  1. Yes I have the January blues too. For me, Christmas is so much fun and exciting and I always looks forward to it during the year. But in January, I feel a little sad. You are right, it’s important to have something to look forward to and share your feelings which are some of the ways to get over the blues. Great post. I can relate to it πŸ™‚
