A good moan makes things better. Well it doesn’t really, but from the moment the words “what a day” are uttered, the floodgates are open and all the frustrations of the day pour out.
Your friends have no idea what they are letting themselves in for.
Or maybe they do, because now, they too have a license to have a good old moan.
It might become moaning one upmanship. “Well, let me tell you what happened to me” is often the start of that.
Everyone gets a turn. Sometimes there are tears, if that’s the case let them flow.
Surprisingly though, these moaning sessions often end in laughter. The face screwed up, holding your belly kind of laughter.
Someone else’s tales of woe can help you to see that it’s not just you these things happen to, or just sharing your story with others can help you to see the funny side.
And look at that, what looked like a pretty crap day, can end on a high with a good old laugh.
They do say laughter is the best medicine, and it is good to talk.
